Stephanie Siu is an artist from Hong Kong currently based in Melbourne. Australia. Her work explores themes of memory, nostalgia, grief, and identity. Through dream-like and distorted self-portraitures, she explores the fragmented nature of personal experience and emotional growth. Her most recent works visually reflect her journey through the transformative years of her early twenties, a period marked by uncertainty and self-discovery. Siu captures the strange and disorienting emotions of navigating life events, where belonging and personal identity are continously being reshaped. These uncanny representations reflect an ongoing dialogue between the real and imagined, offering a window into her inner world. She is heavily inspired by surrealist imagery and dreamscapes.
